OK Eddy, how did you hurt yourself. Inquiring minds want to know. Did that hard jar head save you? From his Facebook page Quote:
Two weeks ago I won a Cub Cadet riding lawn mower from L&M in Hibbing. Yesterday my lucky streak continued. I had an accident with my side by side rolling it over on it's roof into the bail spear of the old Allis. I saw I was being thrown toward the spear point. Evidently my "ninja" skills were intact enough that I moved my head enough out of the way to avoid the spike point. Hit my head on the spike shaft which bought me a CT scan and angiogram. Just sore, upright and taking nourishment. So....yes, I was more than lucky. The bail spear did push through the cover where my head was.
We all like to think of ourselves as rugged individualists. But when push comes to shove most of us are sheep who do what we are told. Worst of all, a lot of us become unpaid agents of whoever is controlling the agenda by enforcing the current dogma on the few rugged individualists who actually exist.

I saw the picture but I'm still not sure what he was doing to roll that thing over right there. Don't know if I would call that luck...Sorta like meeting another car on a narrow road right at the mail box or a jogger. Anyway I'm glad Eddy can joke about it.

Glad you survived. Hope you recover quickly.
I have no faith in human perfectability. I think that human exertion will have no appreciable effect upon humanity. Man is now only more active - not more happy - nor more wise, than he was 6000 years ago.

Not sure what a bail spear is but glad to hear it did not meet up with your head.

It is a very long steel pole on the front of a tractor where the bucket would be to go through one of those big rolls of hay so you can lift and move it. Has a point on the end and is somewhere around 10' or so long.

Ahh man, I just stopped in to get an e-mail for Chy and saw this post. Let me put any concern to rest, that I was somehow involved in some unforeseen accident. Facts remain, it was totally preventable and avoidable for most people my age. Having said that. I was keenly reminded that I am not bulletproof and I still generate bruises and my head remains the toughest point on my body. I am certain I did not bend the bail spear, but I did bend the passenger "OS Handle" which tried impaling itself on the massive thigh muscle this old body still sports! All kidding aside, not my greatest moment in choices and lesson learned. Came to close on this one. I saw the bale spike coming for my head and was able to dodge it enough were the impact occurred on the back of side of my head rather than impaling me. When I stopped I expected that I had the spear in my head and was wondering why I was still conscious to be aware of my last moments of life skewered to bale spear. Fortunately that was not the end of that tune. I couldn't move for a number of minutes so I called my wife on the cell phone which was in reach in my pocket (keep this in mind always keep it close) My wife came out calling "where are you?" Then the precious words that I have heard on more than one occasion..."Edward, what did you do!" Only two people call me Edward, my Mom and my wife. Worst part of it, I caught some bug in the ER that has had me bed ridden longer than the misfortune with the four wheeler!
