Reading plugs when you don't have cash for the dyno is the way to go.

Having a leak free exhaust makes the whole process easy. That a.I. is a big ole pipe leaner-outer.

I found the jetting calculator is good for + - 5 full jet sizes, to me, that's a fairly big range... And it tends to be liberal with the stock slow jet. But it gets you close.
I'd go up pilot jet size off the bat
