Looking to buy a camera phone. anybody bought one lately that takes a halfway decent pic?

I have a digital camera, but it's a pseudo SLR design, so it's too bulky to take with me all the time. I don't have my saddlebags on all the time, so I don't take the camera unless I'm on a trip, but I always have the cell phone with me.

I have a motorola from Verizon. Dont know what model number it is, but it does take some pretty good pictures. It has a 4 x Zoom on it. Took it into the Queen concert and got some good photos. It also has a video camara on it as well, but ive never used it so cant comment on that. It also gets me onto the web page so i can check the footie results when im away from home....VERY IMPORTANT.

When im out on the bike i always take my Sony Cybershot digital camara. Its small enough to fit in my jacket pocket, or it has a really nice carry pouch that my belt can slide through.

Hmmm....I'd look at some of the newer digital cameras. The footprint on those suckers is next to nothing and will fit in a pocket of a jacket or a shirt easy.

I will never own a photo-phone as they are not allowed where I work due to security reasons. Too easy for someone to take pictures in our facility for espionage purposes.

Recently got one of thoses Motorola V3 Razor phones and the picture quality is pretty good. It also does the video thing as well but havent gotten that far in the book to figure out how to do that yet.

My main observation with camera phones is that they suck. The new cameras,to my surprise, are pretty small.

Hey Derek
I agree with Khatt.

I have a mobile phone that, last year, had supposidly one of the best on-phone cameras going.

Pics are grainy and poor but I have never e-mailed them so I'm relying on the screen.

Good digital cameras on the other hand are coming down in price all the time.
I'd consider getting a good quality small digital camera that'll pop in a jacket pocket - the results would be much better IMO.

if your looking to take decent pictures at least get a 3.0 megapixel camera, optical zoom means more than digital, I had a digital elf by canon it worked great until the lcd got smashed. now i use a 5 megapixel canon photos are better than my nikon 35mm camera. I also have the motorola razr from verizon and the pics are horrid compared to my digital camera.

dont waste your money on a phone if its just for pics

camera phones a garbage, to low a pixel count for decent sizes of pics, there okay to send pics to other phones but they dont look to good in an email etc. best to buy a digi camera way cheaper now and have lots of pixels for good quality shots . just a wee bit of info for you razor users ,dont drop them, apparantly they are a very week phone and it doesnt take much of a hit to kill them, ive heard this a few times and my daughter (bestbuy employee) has confirmed this recently by all the returns shes been getting .

I have a Motorola Razor. The picture quality is about as good or less than the very cheapest digital camera. Even when you down load the pics on a computer and try to fix them in Adobe Photoshop, they are still just as bad and not worth saving.
