Now I've seen people doing weird stuff while riding a motorcycle.
But I fail to understand as to why smoke while riding. Seen some people smoking cigarettes, cigars and even e-cigarettes.
I just shake my head from side to side as to what the heck.

We all like to think of ourselves as rugged individualists. But when push comes to shove most of us are sheep who do what we are told. Worst of all, a lot of us become unpaid agents of whoever is controlling the agenda by enforcing the current dogma on the few rugged individualists who actually exist.

Probably because you don't smoke. What is wrong with smoking on a bike, drinking coffee or a coke while riding. All seems pretty normal to me. Well, I quit smoking 8 years ago but always smoked on the bike. Real easy to do.
I try to aggravate one person a day. Today may be your day.

Ha, I smoke, eat, drink, and have even successfully taken a piss while riding down the interstate. Sometimes, ya just can't stop if ya gotta be somewhere. Granted, relieving the bladder from mid pegs are a lot easier then with forwards because you don't have to put a knee in the seat to catch 'clean air' so you don't hose yourself or the bike. That is experience tested too....
Life may begin at 30, but it gets really interesting around 150!

Back in the day... Would smoke on the ride to keep nicotine levels up, had to every two hours, no fun, tobacco burned too fast, could not enjoy the sensory pleasures of the smoke swirling, did have to stop to light it... Glad those days have been gone for a long time. (it was NOT easy, don't trust people who say it was, but, best thing you can do for your health) It does nothing good for you, Stepping off soapbox.

Smoking was easy on a Gold Wing (the Aspencade came with a cigarette lighter). The nicotine helped keep you awake on a boring bike. That and a cup of coffee in the cupholder.  It's been a while since I subscribed, but it wouldn't surprise me to see this advertised in the back pages of Wing World magazine. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0rXad_hOqeA A long enough hose extending past your boot and you wouldn't even get any on your plaid shirt.

There's a guy on the TBird forum from Australia that has an ashtray on his bike. You know me I had to ask why. He said he rides through some pretty dry country and doesn't want to start a brush fire. Makes sense.

I have personally witnessed a guy rolling a cigarette on the gas tank of his VTX (big wind shield) while riding on the interstate. he then lit up.
05 speedmaster - 1100cc, 11:1 racing pistons, Carillo rods, thunderbike cams, ported and polished head, 2mm over intake and exhaust valves, Barnett kevlar clutch, scepter pipes, oversize manifolds, 45mm HSR's, TTP stage 4 firestarter

I would certainly be impressed with the riders dexterity to perform such an act however if a cop witnesses that here it would result in a big fat ticket. (distracted driving)
Come to think of it so would peeing while riding right after the cop stopped laughing.

I would suspect that the nature of the cigarette itself (depending on the state) might be the bigger issue. Although that could be a distraction too.

I rolled smokes for 40 years and not surprisingly, I got pretty good at it. That said, I learned to roll while riding and back in the day I'd do just that (stupidly). Later on in life I saw the wisdom in rolling a bunch before a ride, but I still lit up on the bike until I finally quit several years ago.
