Has anybody fit a larger fuel tank that will easily fit a 2003 America?
Maybe a tank off '10 or newer America, or a Thunderbird tank?

I ride a 2003 Bonneville America, whats your excuse?

Hey bruther, interesting question. The 03 has a 4.5 gallon tank if I recall. At 40 MPG on the highway you can push it for 150/175 miles before she is bone dry.
I seem to remember the 07 tank is a bit larger, I think

So you planning a run to Alaska?

Alaska? That would be an awesome trip!
I was just looking for more fuel capacity and I like the look of the newer bikes with bigger tanks. I know 2010 and newer Americas have bigger tanks, 5.1gal I believe.

I have a Mulberry in colour, I think, FI tank with badges, I have blanked off the fuel pump access with a Stainless plate and factory gasket for the purpose of a longer range tank. I haven't drilled for and installed the petcock yet. You want it, I'll part with it. You will have to add shims to your frame turn stops, so your bars won't hit the tank at full turn, or change over to the later model FI Triple Tree. Without the internal fuel pump displacement, it will hold even more gas than a FI bike.

Try to find a 2008 tank, they were 5 gallons but still carbureted. Should be a direct swap. If you want to pay the money a dealership could order one for you.

You'll still would have the H.bars/tank interference issue at full turn lock. Easy to fix, just tack weld a small hillside washer on both frame stops.

Note to self: Confirmed that there exist at least someone who likes the indent-less tanks.

Garage maneuvers are a PITA with the FI lower tree (shallow steering). Prudence has the Speed-twin inspired tank with the FI lower tree... grrr

The later tanks with no knee indents look OK for the Hondas they belong on.

Funny thing is, I could see that tank being sought after in the future on the carb bikes for it's rarity.
