If my day-date planner is correct , it was 10 yrs ago today that Hunter S. Thompson expired.... he had a way with words.. " love is the feeling you get when you like something as much as your motorcycle"

Wasn't "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas" a parody of H S Thompson?

I actually had no idea who this guy was. I had to look him up. But him living in Aspen sounds about right. I worked around there for a few years in the mid 70's.

Well , HST wrote a book about the Hell's Angels and would have ridden with Sonny so he may have picked that saying up from him....... HST was a very interesting dude... think he picked up the use of the word GONZO from "Uncle Ted" or Nugent got it from him....the world a plagerism

Hard to believe it's been 10 years.

Still enjoy reading some of his stuff and immediately think of him whenever I see a Vincent.

I read it in about 1970 and picked up a copy when I stumbled across it again a few years back.

I've also heard that he is the inspiration for the character Duke in Doomsbury cartoon.
