Having been self employed for over 30 years I can totally relate to this. As the "Boss" you have to put up with the standover tactics of union organizers and you only get the leftovers.

Many times this is how I felt .

Now that I am retired this is how I feel


Oooooohhh, now it's gonna be an anti-union thread. I reccomend reading the classic, "Grapes of Wrath". This comes to mind because of the funny joke that this thread began with.

Yeah, well, I think we already beat the "union thread" a while ago. I was just bored. But I am just finishing a book by Robert Ellis, "A Nation in Torment", and there is a chapter about the Okies and other migrants moving into California to pick crops. Some pretty brutal stories. Quite the good book and writer. Kind of a minor classic, along with his history of New York.
