Is most , or anything interchangable? ... I have a 02 and have been offered a low milage 08 america very very cheap ... are the wheels ? guards ? Tank,shocks etc interchangable ?

I would say yes, I think Fuel injection started in 09.
I try to aggravate one person a day. Today may be your day.

North America had EFI for 2009 model year, IIRC, ROW had EFI for 2008 MY...

I know we changed in 09 to EFI. I thought Australia also changed that year but could be wrong as I have been many times in life  Would that also apply to NZ? Would think the carb/EFI change there would be the key as to how many parts would be interchangeable.

The '08 tank will work, but you may have to tack weld a shim on each side to the frame/tree turn radius stops. Otherwise your bars hit the fatter tank.

07 was the last of the carb.model in Australia.They swapped over to EFI in 08,I think.
BUT some of the last carb. models were fitted with the bigger tank I believe.
I could also be wrong.I remember I was once .

2011 is when the bigger changes went into effect, here in the US, I think.

I just googled it and according to the web info the 2008 Americas were still Carbs.Maybe that's where I'm getting mixed up.Perhaps the 08s had the bigger tanks but weren't EFI?

Yep, '08 was still carbed with the efi shape tank just no fuel pump or cut-out for it. I have an 08 tank on my 05 but changed the triple trees to the '08-'11 style to stop the bars hitting

I do like the look of my 07 tank with the indents more,there's been a couple of times I wished I had the extra capacity of the 08 tank.
