Hi, Has anyone fitted a tacho head to the newer models with the black face? I bought a tacho conversion kit from the local stealership. Comes with a tacho head and nothing else. When I tried to fit found the following. Its a six pin set up with 3 on top and 3 offset below. When you try to insert the male plug from the main harness there is nothing to hold the plug in the female on the back of the tacho. Its rubber encased with a slightly raised edge (the male unit) On looking closer the depth that it engages is not sufficient to engage the pins in the female unit. There is a elevated plastic guide on the housing that prevents it from going in any further into the tacho housing plug. The female plug on tacho housing has two lugs on the exterior that look very much like engagement points for a switch clip. I phoned the stealership who inform me it just plugs straight in. Maybe I am losing the plot in my old age but I had the young mechanic next door look at it and he came to the same conclusion as I did "No way Hose" Any ideas etc?
