Yep. Thinking May 11th-16th actually... froze my butt off last year so moving it ahead a week sounds like a good idea. All week this year too... I was just talking to Yota and Ethan over the Christmas holidays about possibly making an overnight trip to Alabama for the bike museum thingie.. I've been wanting to go for some time and it would be bunches cooler if youse guys were there too.
Food for thought.. let me know what you think.

Again, same dates as the BritBike.com 3 State Ride. I will be riding a '72 Bonny from Gainesville, Ga to Blowing Rock NC up the Blue Ridge Parkway out of Asheville, to join other vintage Norton's, BSA's, and Triumphs for the 214 mile loop through 3 states. I seem to "fit in" with those older hacks for some reason....and it's a much more adventurous journey for me, just the challenge I guess...I didn't make it on my previous '72 Bonneville 3 years ago. Lost a plug wire south of Asheville, had to limp it as close to Blowing Rock as I could on one cylinder. Lost the bike in a hairpin curve to the left, leaving marks in the road, but both of us un-injured...Replaced plug wire in Blowing Rock, successfully completed 214 mile loop the next day (2nd bike in), and all the way home on Sunday..Man it was a HOOT! This year I will be on another '72 Bonneville. Bike has just over 4000 miles on it, completely un-touched from the dealer. Ignition points, Zener diode, capacitors, all completely stock, and she runs like new! Should be quite an adventure!

I'm drooling at the thought of it...
You decide how and when, and that may influence when I leave here and head your way. And maybe not. I'm flexible.
Just ordered a new front tire for the '04, and a new rear tire for the '09. They're both good to go!

We just got the un-fun stuff this time. Freezing rain and the like. Lotsa folks without power but we were lucky for the most part though I did spend my morning cutting the trees from the drive. No operable chain saw (need to work on that) but had the saws-all till the transformer down the road blew and we lost power. Sounded like War of the Worlds dude.. no lie... an incredibly loud hum/vibration then the explosoion echoed up the valley, I was on the ladder at the time and I about dove for cover... scared crap out of me. We're all good though but the roads will be a problem for a couple of days. I just hope it's warmer this year.. froze my butt of last year.

lol Speaking of goodies... ...I watched, just last night, the Andy Griffith Show episode, "The Keeper of the Flame." You know the one where Andy was going to pay for Opie burning down the farmer's barn. story line

I haven't checked in yet, because my status is still up in the air. You see, and not to air my dirty laundry, corporate America decided to once again deal me a blow and I was laid off in December 2014. Merry Christmas to the Meyer family! However, I am working hard to recover and hope to be clear for a nice ride up to see friends in N.Ga. Stay tuned dear hearts!!!
