I just heard the news on the radio Donna Douglas (Ellie May) has died. I use to want to go swimming with her in the cement pond while Granny fixed me some vittles.

Donna Douglas received around $500 a episode for her role as Ellie May. Not exactly enough to ride out her life as rich. I had fantasies about her as well, but they went a lot further than going swimming and getting fed some of Grannies vittles.

I'm sure she would have 'wooped' me, but, I'm also sure I would have enjoyed it. She will always be that young healthy women from the show in my mind. RIP

I had the pleasure of meeting and dancing with her at a Kansas Day event in the 1980s. She was a guest of Bob Dole. Even in her 50s, she was a stunning beauty and I as a 30 something guy thought she was sexy and built. She had an unbelievable smile, great sense of humor and man could she slow dance.
It saddens me, what a loss, Donna Douglas RIP.
