Hello. I'm looking at a set of saddlebags that are the newer EFI large (part number T2350853) bags. My question is, will these fit a carb '05 America, or if not, do you think the mounting brackets could be modified to bolt to the existing area where the sissybar bolts? Right now I have a set of saddlebags, but they are smaller, use the bag stay brackets, then tie together under the passenger seat. I like these newer style because they are larger, have quick opening clasps, and have a nicer cleaner look due to the mounting. Please let me know your thoughts.

there are rumors that the Triumph bag issues (sagging and cracking) has been dealt with but i am not convinced of that and like said for that kind of money no way. Viking makes great bags at great prices and free delivery i think, also provide a mounting system with their bags or you can uy the very popular Easy Mount system from Eddy. Hard bags are also nice and still less in many instances then the Triumph ones. Lots of alternatives out there.

The triumph bags sag pretty quick. LIke ive had mine for 6 months and ya sagage.

Thanks for the input everyone. I was going to stick with the Triumph bags just because I am pretty OCD about everything I put on the bike. I like to, for some reason, keep everything "genuine" Triumph. I guess I'm just a sucker for the OE parts. Anyway, after looking at the Viking bags, they do look really good and have a lot of great features, so I may go that route. Believe me though, I was not going to pay full price for the OE bags, I am looking at a set on E-bay for buy it now $350, I think if I bid, I could get them for around $250.00. I do agree that the OE bags sag as I currently have the large ones meant for a '05(just aren't big enough) and I can notice it on the left one since the bike leans that way on the stand. It definitely took a different shape than the right one.

I used 1/8th"Aluminum plates (former road sign) for a full liner on the inside and easy brackets for the bike attach and eliminated any sag on my Triumph bags. Buttonhead Allen fasteners, with the buttons to the inside/Acorn nuts with Stainless fender washers to the outside to secure the plates throughout, so no sharp protrusions to deal with either. With just Easy brackets the bags flopped in and out and looked wonky going down the road, they're rigid now.

I installed Leatherworks bags on my America complete with Easybrackets. Work well. These are the 112BOPLK model which start at $450US. If I was to purchase again I would get the 2 inch longer ones or the 128 model. Take a look at the gallery for some nice Triumphs with bags. The nicest one is THE WHITE ONE. If you do install, make sure you point the front of the bags downward. Too many fellows point the front of the bag up which ruins the look IMO.

#1 on Leatherworks, I have a set of the 112s with the pouches myself, although, sometimes you have to pack creatively to get square things to fit with a diagonal storage system. I sandwiched/reinforced the inboard panels with Aluminum plates on these as well.
