Yep, been there, done that. Maybe the best mod I've done on the America, and there have been plenty.
For years I had charging, starting issues. Several batteries, starter replacement, ignition switch, stator,RR wiring mods, etc.
Installed the Mosfet, problem solved. 
Anyone have a link to a thread on this mod? Thanks!
