I have a set of factory wrenches for the fork preload and jam nut if you need to borrow. You pay the freight

Ryk, thanks for the offer. If you are referring to the flat wrenches for the head stock bearings, I have some. I do plan to replace fork oil and swap to Progressive springs. Not going any deeper.
How much pressure are the fork caps under? Should I leave the fork leg in the yoke to remove the cap or can I do that with the fork leg removed? *I have removed one fork leg but did loosen(did not remove) the cap before removing it
Will be addressing the fork lowers, the coating (lacquer or clear coat?) has deteriorated and looks like crap.

I have a few of the Pittsburgh tools they sell now, just bought a long swivel head 3/8" drive ratchet that seems as good quality as Snap on or the Cornwell one I have or the MAC one I have and was only $24 and lifetime warranty. I have quite a few things from Harbor Freight that are surprisingly good quality and have lasted years so far, I have also purchased other things from them that are junk.

Ian, the pieces I got today seem to be good. I am not trying to really knock or plug HF as most of my experience has been on the junk side. These tools will stay in the box for a while. But I do have to say, there have been several times when the less than great quality of some of their low $ items has been the difference of getting the job done now & not getting it done.
