Last night I learned something about our horns and quiet interiors of newer cars. I was on I-75 in GA doing about 75 mph in the dark. I had on a highly reflective vest but still wasn't seen. Was in the middle lane when a car just started pulling over into my lane, he never looked or just didn't see me. Luckily no one was in the outside lane so I had somewhere to go. I laid on the horn but I don't think he even heard it. I got home and had a Miller Lite. Less filling and taste great but also calmed my nerves. Today I got up and got back on I-75.

That's why I advocate for loud pipes.

I'm glad ya pulled through it unscathed.

It is hard to miss a vehicle that is as loud as a helicopter in the lab next to you.
But my bike is only mildly loud.

A Stebel air horn rather than the pathetic little "meep meep" thing that came stock.

We all like to think of ourselves as rugged individualists. But when push comes to shove most of us are sheep who do what we are told. Worst of all, a lot of us become unpaid agents of whoever is controlling the agenda by enforcing the current dogma on the few rugged individualists who actually exist.

this dude keeps talking about how his bike is only mildly loud...
I have ridden behind the locopony and I have Scepter pipes that I could not hear!
I didn't think a P-twin could make that much noise!

Interesting how we talk about loud pipes making our presence known, but not so much about horns. I have the loudest electric horn known to man... it's loud!! I can wake up a driver at the push of a button. That's a good feeling! Next will be the Volvo... its horn sucks.

I'm getting the horn but I also think it might be time for some very bright auxiliary driving lights. Any recommendations for the lights?

I don't want to scare them to death and get run over anyway, lol. I just want them to know I'm there.

The Harbor Freight here in Valdosta, GA still sells the Bad Boy air horn and with a coupon I can get it for $30.00.
