My 2003 Speedy is looking pretty worn. I was thinking of getting the tins repainted this winter. There are some dings in the tank as well so it will also need a little body work. I'm just going to with a staight one color jet black paint job. In your guys opinion what woulb be a ball park fair price?

You can drop the tins to a guy and have him do them next time he paints a black car. 300-400 bucks maybe.
I try to aggravate one person a day. Today may be your day.

A minimum of 500, closer to 800 if you want a factory type finish.

500 will get you a very plain paint job, 1500 gets you a nice paint job that will last. But heck, i would do it myself, get a little bondo putty, fill in your dents and a little sanding, you would be supprisedd how easy (sanding is work though) it is, get some decent 1k primer , black sand it, then paint (4 coats minumum) than a really good 2k clear coat (only good once mixed for 24 hours , so make sure all is ready for clear) about 3 coats and it will likley look pretty darn good. Cost = likley about 300 buks or less for material, a bit of time and .......
2007 Speedmaster and miss it!

That is just the catch, $1500 gets me a brand new set of tins from the dealership. I'm going to call a few places but I was hoping to be able to get the body work and a paint job equal to that of the factory finish for around $800.

This thread got me thinking. Remember this guy?

I remember watching that guy between Garfield Goose and Frazier Thomas and the 3 Stooges on WGN ch 9 Chicago in the 60s. One thing though, when I first saw him on TV the price was $39.95, not $99.95.

Advance Auto parts or any like that and get the Duplicolor paint in the quart can. Ready to spray. Around here, it is $22.95 a a can. So you need your color and some clear. one quart will paint like 5 bikes. And i'm no painter...stands up to gas spills better then regular spray can clear coat. My 05. Jet black and silver base coat metallic. Base coat silver has more/larger flakes then standard metallic silver. My 98 XLC hot rod, Lime green pearl metallic Tins for a friend's 77 XLH purple metallic, metallic silver, bright blue accent. His frame, screw powder coating. Metallic silver base coat. My 75 XLCH. Jet black and True Blue metallic with a hint of white to brighten it to match Bahama blue. And my 71 Bonnie/Tiger on a 67 frame, hard tailed. Jet black, no clear, and Ruby red metallic frame. All over the counter/PQD paint colors.
Life may begin at 30, but it gets really interesting around 150!
