I recently bought a 2000 Adventurer and enjoy the performance and handing. Maintenance, however, is a real pain. I had to remove the carbs to change the air filter. Changing the spark plugs requires removing the valve cover. Topping off the coolant requires removing the gas tank. This thing is reminding me of the old Cadillac that required dropping the engine to change spark plugs. I guess I'm spoiled by the America.
Yep Larry. All the first generation "T300 series" Hinckley Triumphs had a steel backbone stressed member frame which ran too close to the back of the air cleaner assembly and thus required the removal or at least the loosening the carbs in order to change the air filter, AND a starter mechanism placed inside the lower cases which requires a complete removal of the entire engine from the frame and a disassembly of the lower cases in the event of a failed sprag clutch, AND the very reason why my nineteen ninety five Sprint has been sitting idle in my garage for about five years now.
(...and so, whatever you do, do NOT attempt to start your Adventurer with a weak battery, as this will prematurely wear down the "dogs" on your srag clutch)
Yep! Just like a good Single Malt Scotch, you might call me "an acquired taste" TOO.(among the many OTHER things you may care to call me, of course)
