My 07 SM bagger is a keeper.
Sometimes though, I want something a bit lighter, more of a runabout, maybe even a dedicated backroad burner. Not a T-100; I'm considering the 17" mag wheel version...set up as a solo bike only.
But damn that 360 motor...that is the only thing holding me back.
Thoughts?

I actually want a 360º engine for the next chopper I build. Why wouldn't you want the 360º?

I have experience with 270's & 360's...from my perspective the 270's have a character (sound & feel) that the 360's I've ridden don't, and the 270 puts the power down a bit differently.
Could I be happy with the right 360? Maybe.
Personal preference, if you will, is with the 270. Maybe what I really want is a 270 motor in a Bonnie SE.
This project, if it goes, will be a relatively lightweight solo curve machine.

i kind of get what Ken is saying, now that i have a thunderbird the 360 engine is strong but it really does lack the character of the 270, no matter what pipe you have on the 360 its quite, when you get on it its great but not until then, it also spools up differently, not worse just differen, i do miss the bub pipes and my 270 though. But i sure do likes the T-Bird too.

The one thing I miss about the old bikes is the sound of the 360º engine that is why I would like to build a chopper around one.

Get a scrambler, they're 270.
Every normal man must be tempted, at times, to spit on his hands, hoist the black flag, and begin slitting throats.

Yes, they are...I keep waffling on them, as they have wire wheels & a higher stance (neither of which I want) ...but I love riding them.
2013 & later Moto Guzzi V7 Stone is also in the running.
