Why did Triumph have to recreate the electrical issues of Lucas Electronics? Rec / Reg that melts wires, coils that fail and unreliable CDI? Really?

Oh, forgot the electronic tach that starts from anywhere between 0 and 5000 or more rpm when off.

I hope I haven't just jinked myself here(knock on, or I suppose if you're from the Land of The Superfluous 'u', "touch" wood ), but like Ian, I've never experienced any of these problems some around here have over the years, such as the failure of the CDI unit or coils, the speedometer "innards" or even cable, or that rare dreaded major one, the failure of the starter holding bracket inside the lower cases.

(...nope, the only thing that ever broke on my '02 BA was that little rubber loop that holds the speedo cable away from the front fender...and I can live with that of course)

Yep! Just like a good Single Malt Scotch, you might call me "an acquired taste" TOO.(among the many OTHER things you may care to call me, of course)
