I am about to dismantle a new roadster shield i bought for the storm, i am getting all of the chrome powdercoated black to match the trim( fender rails) etc of the bike. Most of it seems basic but there are the two mechnism's that are covered up with the spring inside to latch on to the lock assembly when installed. Has anyone ever had this apart? Taken the cover off? I see the retaining clip, i just don't want to take this off and have a spring pop out or something else if i am not prepared for it. i can't of course bake those parts. If you have had it off any special trick to getting it back together? thanks.
