I do understand about the thinner leather, wires and such, but the the gloves are thinner than most other cold weather gloves and keep my hands very warm. Which is all I need to get to work or ride around on a sunny and/or dry, cold day.
Those "Hippo Hands" are what the police here all have. I bet they have heated grips too.
