Want a right hand side engine cover gasket for a 01 Bonnie. $5.95 from BikeBandit.com. Bandits is right- $89.13 for international shipping..... not going to happen. Sent them a query, will see what the response is. Haven't priced it locally yet but know that I sure as hell won't get it for $5.95 here.

You should get a Yank to buy it, get it shipped to Yank's house . Then Yank sends it to you in a large letter envelope. Probly would cost 4 or 5 USD.

Update. You could buy it yourself and have it shipped to Yank's house . And you know the rest of the story.

Because they are only $5 I tend to add one or two to each order I make with Bike Bandit, so I have 4 of them in my 'spares box' and would happily send one over. That said the envelope Triumph supply them in is Letter size and weighs just under 100g. Looking on the USPS website that means it would ship as a 'large letter' at just under $25 for the cheapest service (double that for Priority, yes over $50). If it was within the envelope category (smaller but also lighter) then it would only be $5, but the gasket itself is 9' by 10' so that would only work if folded and placed in a regular envelope. Let me know if you want me to send one.

Can I blame it on me being a relocated Brit, having to re-learn US/Imperial measurements after 40 plus years of metric indoctrination?

I should have written 225mm by 250mm for Cloudy's benefit.

Thanks for all the offers of help guys. Appreciated. At this stage I will price up the gasket here and go from there. Really only posted because it was so ludicrous an amount for such a small item that I thought you all might have a bit of a laugh.

Well there you go! Teach me to just assume all parts here are exorbitantly priced! $12.95 nz, here in a couple of days.

I will now crawl back behind my couch of embarrassment...

New Zealand was always a good source for vintage parts.

And don't forget the free use of a bike while you're there.

We all like to think of ourselves as rugged individualists. But when push comes to shove most of us are sheep who do what we are told. Worst of all, a lot of us become unpaid agents of whoever is controlling the agenda by enforcing the current dogma on the few rugged individualists who actually exist.
