Well, I finally modified the shifter and brake levers to accept a matched set of Kuryakin retro pegs and shifter peg and brake pad. Photos are in my gallery. What do you guys think?

Ok, the pegs are here: J&P Cycles retro peg page

And the adapters to fit the pegs to the stock mounts are here: Ma's Cycle footpeg adapter

I had to cut the welded shifter nub off and grind it flat, then drill a hole to mount the shifter peg. The brake pad from Kuryakyn had to be ground out in back a little so it would fit flush on the stock lever, then I just drilled the mount hole.
