Dang. And I thought the new Trophy had problems. But my question is, who is going to enforce the quarantine? If it seems to be running alright and a person continues to ride it what will BMW do? Penalize you by way of not honoring the warranty? I'd probably take option #3 and get my money back and buy another bike.
If a person ignores the quarantine and rides his BMW and IF the rear shock breaks one of 2 bad things could happen: 1. Rider crashes because shock rod breaks and BMW declines claim for any damage. 2. Because rider was warned not to ride the bike by the manufacturer because of a known safety defect his insurance company could deny claim for damage.
Or the rider could take his chances and ride the bike and maybe nothing happens while waiting 3 or more months for the upgraded shocks to arrive. Guess it depends on how lucky he feels.
