Once you start doing mods do you ever really find Nirvana or is it an ongoing lifestyle change?
Here's what I did last weekend to my 07 TBA.
AI removal
Long TORs
Air box and Uni filter drilled
New NGK plugs
Main Jets 130s (left stock pilots) Turned pilot adj 3 turns
With the help of this forum and Pat's contributions I feel it went pretty well.
The bike fired right up and idles like it should. Sound is awesome very happy with the long TORs sound. Not getting any popping at deceleration. From closed throtle to WOT it has a nice smooth power band. I rode it for about ten miles and the only thing I am noticing is when holding at 1/4 throtle (in the 3k rpm range) the bike just feels like it's stumbiling a bit. When I got back I let the bike cool off and pulled the plugs. Ten miles isn't much but the plugs did have some whiteish/grey deposits on them. So I guess I'm running a little on the lean side.
Have read in past posts about TBS needles fixing this problem (the stumbiling in mid range)so I ordered some. I know that they make your bike run a tad richer but, with the indications from the plugs I can't see this being a bad thing.
My plan now is to install the needles and ride it a bit. Then dyno it so I know exactly where I am and tweek it accordingly.
I think I'm on the right path but, you guys have taught me everything I know about this stuff so I truly value your opinions. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance.
Cheers!
