I made the jump from the America to a Tiger 1050. I miss the America from time to time, and I will probably never have a bike as "cool" as my America. That said, I am head over heels in love with the new Tiger. The riding position fits me better, it handles flawlessly, and my god that engine. I love everything about it except the color. It is "scorched yellow", which isn't that bad, and it is growing on me, but it just isn't me. Looks like my winter project may involve a color change. I just want to say that this is the best forum I've ever been a member of, and I appreciate the camaraderie, the advice, the inspiration, and the friendship over the years. You're not rid of me yet though, I'll still be hanging around. Still going to plan the Great River Road Rally, and do Fantasy Football, and I still plan to attend some of the other ba.com rallies that I haven't made it to yet. Here are some pics of the new steed.

Hah, another rat jumping the ship! You could always buy an Indian and you'd be REALLY cool! And yes, you are right, the color IS that bad!! (Just jerking ya around.) I'm pretty sure you'll come up with a new paint scheme for it. Always glad to hear someone is enjoying their new machine! And like the rest of us "rats" on here, I'm pretty sure you're gonna stick around. We've all been friends tooooo looooong to leave now!

it's a cool bike Scott, I want one of them myself... you should be able to make the Arkansas Rally now with a mile-eater like that!

. "I miss the America from time to time, and I will probably never have a bike as "cool" as my America." I'd say you're correct. That's one thing the America/Speedy has by the truck load. I LOVE the look of my bike. There are more powerful bikes, better handling bikes, faster bikes , no NO better looking bikes than the America/Speedmaster IMO. Having said that, "horses for courses" and no doubt the Tiger will be great.

Congrats! Same bike as my brother's, let us know how well you manage to avoid speeding tickets.

Nice buy, those triples are something special. That said, I think you'll find yourself missing the America from time to time; it's been a year since mine rode away and I still miss it (especially when random pictures pop up.)

It surprised me, too. Matt bought the bike, the house caught fire a month later; we were displaced until the new year and it's really taken much longer to settle back in than I woud have thought. Plus, I went back on tour a week after we moved back in so everything has been stretched out along the timeline. When I unpacked a box last week I found an old calendar that had Jim's Cinnamon Girl and my bike parked by the Barber entrance sign and it brought back a flood of great memories.

Nice! I'm jealous! And I do like the color! Life's way too short to be able to experience and enjoy ALL of the really great bikes out there. Don't worry too much about that "Cool" factor. It is, after all, still a Trumpet, and you don't see them everyday like you do a lot of the other clones. Enjoy, and be safe!

nice bike , no worries about moving on to another bike, we are bike riders that's what we do when we can, i am looking at the new storm right now myself, something with a bit more oomf for the mrs and me when required. Plus personalizing a bike is a part of it for me, i have no other real hobbies so what the heck. Enjoy your new bike man, shes a bute!

Shoot man, I traded UP to a Tigger a few years ago, and I am still hanging around on the board. Stick around and ride safe!!! p.s. One piece of advice. Tiggers don't like cold starts. Make sure she has plenty of juice.
