As best as I can tell my bike developed a minor but annoying exhaust leak, secondary to an ignition sensor failure.

Using the "hand near pipe" detection method, it appears that the leak is in the area of the crossover joint. I did find a loose clamp there and snugged it up; however, the decel popping issue at low revs continues. My next step is to torque the clamp to spec (22Nm). If that does not work & presuming it isn't coming from my AFM O2 sensor (also mounted in that area) then I will pull the whole system apart, check everything, and remount.

The manual does not call for silicone sealer at the crossover joint. Anyone here use silicone at the crossover connection?

I use the Hi-Temp Red on the crossover union. Why not?

I think its a good idea...when I pull the headers, the high-temp copper is going on.

Well, I went through the entire exhaust system, & except for a loose crossover clamp could not find anything obvious. I then pulled the entire exhaust system & replaced the header crush gaskets. I was amazed about how well the exhaust ports matched the headers...they looked spot on. I used copper hi-temp on the crossover connection...which also helped the joint to seat properly as it also acts pipe lube before it cures.
