I stopped at auto zone today and and picked up my oil change supplies. This is what I am going with, rotella t6 5w 40, and the Bosch filter, and some marvel mystery oil. the only thing I forgot is the aluminum oil plug washer. I also picked up some nifty valve stem caps that have a green band that disappears when the tire pressure is below the set air pressure. I got the ones for 36 psi.

yup i have purchased my first 5 ltrs of the T^, gonna give it a go this time around. Only have the triumph filters (had a few set aside) so hopefully they are fine with this oil, can't see why not. Those stems sound kind of cool though.

I just scuff the thing a new surface on the garage floor and move on.

So Chad how many miles or clicks as we say since the last oil change? Those caps with tire pressure tab might have save some of the wear on my front tire I will look for those.

I do mine every 5000 miles. I just decided to try the rotella t6 for the first time. http://www.accupressurecaps.com/index.php?page=Category.Browse&externalCategoryId=32544These are the caps. Not pretty but if they work well, very pragmatic.

Those look pretty good. Cheaper ones have been around for years, but they weren't encapsulated so the gauge part eventually got gunked up and they lost their accuracy. I may have to order a few of these myself. I'll take advantage of almost any product to avoid crawling around on the garage floor.

After looking at my bike, (Indian), I find that I need one 36 psi cap and one 40psi cap, but they come in sets of 4. Anyone interested in splitting the cost of some of the caps? If I have to pay for all 8, I'll have $24 bucks wrapped up in it.

I hate those tire pressure caps, they hold the valve open just asking for a leak.

Tire pressure bleeds down for some reason anyway. I would rather have an easy way to monitor it.

Oil change done! Let it drain for a few days hehe.
I did a little burn out in the garage being silly , in celebration.
rotella t6, Bosch filter, air filter cleaned, crank case breather cleaned, now new brake pads, and possibly a battery. The battery starts it every time but its a bit draggy.
Soon I shall ride to sasnakrA yahoo.

I'm giving the Rotella a trial too, even the valve train sings a happier tune, My imagination? Dunno. Runs about 5 degrees cooler (avg.) probably because pumping thick oil creates heat in itself. 2500 miles to date, clean crisp shifts, fairly consistent oil pressure cold vs hot, Purolator "Pure one" filters for me, rated the best by independent testing, so far so good.

I wanted a Pure 1 filter but no body around has them in stock.
