Kind of a question for my "other" site, but I know you guys better. I just bought a big patch for my jacket, with a design that is a "front view of an Indian chief with headress, with the face being a skull". I had already bought it when I noticed some kind of mention of "MC" on the description. Does anyone here know of an "outlaw" or otherwise type club that uses this emblem? I don't want to get in trouble and I ride in a lot of states.

Nah, I know the hells angels one. This looks just like an old fashioned Indian logo, full headress, front view, skull instead of a face. I bought a "summer" riding jacket, black nylon looking thing with armour, and I'm gonna put it on the back, along with a traditional Indian script patch. I'll tell you one thing, fellas. It's a heck of a lot easier to buy Indian branded stuff to display than it ever was Triumph stuff! There's LOADS of things out there! Although, I also bought a new Triumph patch to put on one of my other jackets. Let's see now, I think I'm up to 5 jackets, a complete riding suit and two chap sets. I'm starting to feel like Imelda!

don't put any rockers on it or your location city etc on the back and you should be fine. Its not a dumb question. I belong to a R/C (riders club) in my parts that has a patch, the president actually had to go to the local HA and clear the patch and club with them....we even had to give them one of our patchs to display in the clubhouse i guess so other members could see it and know we are just an R/C. Who knew! Politics everywhere.

Excuse me here gentlemen, but what exactly are "rockers"?
(...well, other than those blokes over in Blighty who used to rumble with the "Mods"...but enough about "Quadrophenia")
Yep! Just like a good Single Malt Scotch, you might call me "an acquired taste" TOO.(among the many OTHER things you may care to call me, of course)

You are absolutley right!! its a frigin riders club for goodness sakes, i suppose they did not need to have a patch but its a club and clubs always have some kind of uniform or something that identifies you as a member..... but...beats the hell out of being approached by anyone with the wrong intentions.

usually its the lower rocker that the 1% have an issue with, its usually under the "patch" and has a location on it, country or state etc and in the 1% arena usually means that you have claimed that area as your groups territory. They call them rockers because they are usually shapped like the the bottom of a rockiong chair, or a stretched out U on its side that is wrapped around the "patch" as it were. Our club is a one piece patch no rockers and says R/C and it was still a slight concern.

I've heard any riding group sporting a clubstyle patch must get an OK from the local MC that controls the turf the area. Outlaws are the dominant MC around here. There are some others in the aarea and HA have been spotted as well.

So, there ya go, Rich! It seems as long as you don't ALSO put one of those "rocker" thingies that says "Southeast Iowa" on the back of your jacket along with that Indian skull patch, and which it seems would SOMEHOW signify to SOME people that you're SOMEHOW "claiming" that part of Iowa as "your turf", it appears you're "free" to sew that puppy on the back of your jacket. (...and I'm SO glad I now know this, as I've now RE-learned "primitive tribalism" apparently STILL has a strong influence upon some people EVEN in this industrialized modern country in the 21st freakin' Century...though I STILL have yet to learn where all these screwed-up people in the world come from???)

So does it look something like this:
Be advised some Motorcycle Clubs do not use rockers and have the name integrated in the design. If it's close enough to a rival club or one that supports a rival club you could get to meet several new people and have a lively conversation.
You might consider an Indian Motorcycles trade mark patch that cannot be confused with a club.

The Hells Angels hold corporation status in Canada and the US, and are nearly a global organization at this point.
I'd pay to attend or read the minutes of their corporate board meetings, although I imagine they are privately held with no public stock.

That's funny. Nice patch! It's going to get expensive if you make it too colorful, but I'm interested.

You may need to change that flag in the middle if the Scots vote for independence.I'd wait to find out.Or you could do it without the shield in the middle.I'd be for that.Maybe put the Triumph name between the wings.I'd buy one like that.

Nice job on the patch and tee, but I'd do away with the "flame" and re-position the "Triumph" where the flame was.
That's just a matter of personal taste, there is no right answer, well done.

Personally I like the big picture on the front. and maybe just triumph across the back,, lets face it, most the time we are wearing our jackets or vest. Me if Im paying money for a shirt I Want the pic on the front.

Well just sell it to members,, if you look on cafe press though there are plenty of unlicensed Triumph things. Though the only logo I saw was the baseball type.
