Of course sewing them on is the best, but not always practical or time efficient. So thought i would pose the question, what do you do to place your patchs on vests or jackets etc? I have heard a number of things that are supposed to work well.

1. Shoe Goo (apparently works very well)
2. Locktite premium grab adheisive (apparently used by many HA and used on the Sons of Anarchy patches etc)

what else?

My jacket has a few patches and they are all sown on.

I've never heard of gluing a patch on. Luckily, I have an old fashioned boot shop just up the road who does great work. He fixes anything leather and his wife sews anything on it. And they do it cheap. She tried to charge me $8 for a fairly large patch when I got my new bike. I made her take a 20. Ya gotta show appreciation to a craftsman!

Shoe Goo or for an instant stick Contact Cement. Either applied properly and you have a good bond, James Bond if you will.

Then there's those iron-on patches. They work.... NOT! I always get mine sewn on by a professional patch attacher. Short of that I can't see why they can't be sewn on by hand.

Just follow an age old tradition and sew the thing on, man ! Glue ? C'mon. That's as bad as a Triumph sticker on the tank.

Most dry cleaners/alterations places do sewing. About the going rate here is 5.00 to 8.00 per patch. Stick it on with pins where you want 'em first.
