A talk show today on CBC was asking people to phone in and say what he meant to them and why it was such a blow that he committed suicide. Amongst the callers were two diametricaly opposed opinions both were people who suffered depression. One said that knowing that even a person with such talent, fame and compassion could be so depressed to take their life it made him feel good that he has been able to battle with it and survives. Another guy phoned in and said that he was really down because if a guy that has that kind of money and contacts and still can't get the demon to go away how could the small person.
Glass half empty or half full but such harsh consequences if the glass becomes void of liquid altogether. If any good can come from this is that people have a better understanding about the subject and reach out to someone that might be headed down that path.
