I have a pulsing vibration in second gear. Any ideas, I hope nothing is wrong in the transmission. I have aligned the rear wheel tomorrow I am going to take out the cushions drive shims. My only other thought is I got a bad tire or clutch.

Clutch plates maybe. Could need a chain though. I have seen that be the problem causing a low speed vibration.

Is it possible the cush drive shims are too tight causing some binding? Doesn't hurt to pull the shims and run with a loose cush drive to check. Forget it.... just noticed your second post. I guess you pulled the shims already!

A worn chain can do that big time.

Chain is on the to do list and so is clutch. I realized to day the cush and sprocket wasn't on when it was balanced so that may be it too. I will keep every posted if I can get it to go away. But clutch and Chain is in the spring both of which at 27000 miles are about do for a change.

Have you looked at your chain and front sprocket?
