Well I found some problems. One vacumn cap on the left side cracked and air inlet rubber shield on right carb out of place. I replaced the cap from supplies I had from SBC carb parts and repositioned the air inlet to carb rubber shield....not sure what Triumph calls them. All intake bolts were tight and I did not see any apparent leaks on the exhaust manifold. The fuel/oil residue on the left carb intake bolt I am hoping is there from the minor backfires and misses from the cracked cap. Once the rain passes and the roads dry I will take it out and see if it is any better. QUESTION: I have never balanced the carbs. It has always run pretty well to me. I assume I can use two vacumn gages and attached one to each side where the rubber caps are. Is that correct? Well I see I gotta figure out how to post a pic, if even possible.
