To me the engine has more the look of an updated(DOHC/water-cooled) and modernized JAP(the British-made J A Prestwich, and most famously used in the Brough Superior SS100) OHV V-Twin engine than of the old side-valve Indian Scout.
Anybody else see this here?
And, the reason the new Thunder Stroke engine is such a visual winner is because the boys at Polaris did such a masterful job of re-creating the old side-valve Indian look in an OHV engine.
Hmmmmm, gotta say while the claimed HP and Torque output figures are very impressive AND the overall look of this new Scout is FAIRLY well done, THIS ONE will probably have to "grow on me for awhile" before I'll really warm to it.
