Hi,
I have a chance to buy a pair of stock pipes off an '09 (EFI). My bike is '05 (carbed.) Have read that there is a cat converter in the EFI pipes? I was going to use these pipes to experiment with de-baffling before attempting in on my own stock pipes. I can get them for not too much $$, hence the 'experiment' but don't want to waste my time and $$ if there is a cat that would make these a total mis-match regarding back-pressure or anything else.

What say? Thanks.

Interesting question

http://www.bikebandit.com/oem-parts/2009-triumph-america/o/m18730#sch631063

This shows an exhaust, part 13. with the CAT for "all mkts except CA, US, AU, NZ, ZA"....I would assume CAT is cat converter...best option call bike bandit and reference the page I linked

The cats are going to add weight, however I don't see any reason why you can't use 'em. No leaded fuels, though (hard to find anyway these days, except at airports & racetracks)

there are cats in there, and the stuff is funky when you drill it. totally doable thou, and don't for get your bungs to fill in the o2 holes.

I thought the o2 sensors were in the headers...is that wrong?

Yes they are on the pipe (header) by the head...I think he is just getting the muffler section...part 13 in the link I referenced....and from what I can tell if they are a US muffler they don't have a CAT in them
