Is there any tricks to rear tire alignment? I just put a new back tire on and I have a small pulsing vibration now. I tightened up the chain and wasn't paying attention to my turns on the adjusters and might have turned on to far. I matched up the parks not i'm not confident in them being the same (one is bent a little.

A laser makes it real quick an easy. web page This one is on an Aussie ebay site but if you search you'll easily find them in the USA.

Those Profi chain alignment lasers are very accurate. I have a Starrett 48" precision ground straightedge and I can not align my rear wheel any closer to perfect with it than the Laser tool. They are expensive, but with the extra service of your chain and sprockets along with the ease of use, they are a sound investment, IMO.

Lay a steel ruler against the face of the sprocket and sight along the chain. You can easily see which adjuster needs tweaking by the parallel or not parallel lines. Not as fancy as a dedicated tool and a laser is probably more accurate but I know you have this in your tool box.

I always just measure from the center of the swing arm pivot point to the center of the axel. You can put your own gage marks on the swing arm the first time and go by that ever after.

Doesn't that assume the motor, frame and swing arm are perfectly aligned? On my '06 I had to shim behind my front sprocket 60 thou to attain a better sprocket centerline situ, it was either that or re shim the entire rear wheel to the right. Mass produced weldments such as our frames always have a permitted plus/minus rate of acceptable end result, albeit, I'm sure Triumph runs tighter go/nogo specs than Ford or GM, at least I sincerely hope so.

It presumes that the axle is aligned with the swingarm pivot. It is possible that by doing it that way the front to rear wheel alignment might be off a little bit.
It is also possible that the wheels can be in the same plane but offset, & it is possible that the sprockets can be out of alignment although the swingarm pivot and axle are aligned.

+1 but instead of a ruler, I use a piece of piano wire about a foot long placed against the rear sprocket sighting on the chain.

I was making the assumption that he was replacing the chain and wanted to align the back wheel not doing a complete wheel alignment.
So unless there is side to side movement when ya jack the bike up or some sign that there is bearing wear, a simple measure from the pivot to the axle center should suffice.
Sometimes the manufacturer will make an error in fabricating the wheel spacers. Its not common but has happened. And it has happened that the drive train is installed slightly a skew. Also not very common.
That's more of an older Harley issue, and that happens more than ya think.
If ya do pull the whole wheel then you should check the bearings and the wheel spacers.
Out side of them issues, right back to Factory is generally good.

Measuring sounds like the best Idea. I also checked tire pressure It was at 42 I always run about 35 so maybe that has something to do with it.

Your tire most likely is wearing on one side due to the crown in the roads you ride on.

Could be crown,tire pressure, turn left faster then right, wheel alignment or all of the above. I don't remember anyone mentioning front end alignment in the past and couldn't find it in the vault.
