I know this is been done to death but for some reason when I search I don't get any results so apologize ahead of time. I've even watched a couple of YouTube videos to try to help out. Anyways anyone that has seen my post knows I've been dealing with swapping out the head of my bike and dealing with the shims. When I first took the bike apart there was a long gap of getting to put it back together because of the different model of heads and waiting to get the parts for the different head. Well we got it back together and there was one hose that we couldn't figure out where one end of it goes. The bike started up and ran so we thought it was no big deal. Upon installing the AI removal kit from new bonniville I have figured out what the hose is for but still not sure exactly where it goes. I have figured out it goes to the carb but I can't figure out where so I can install the rubber cap from the kit.
Step 6 remove rubber hose connecting the air valve to the carburetors. Replace with rubber cap on the carb
I've looked and looked and I can't see where anything is missing but the. Again I've never worked on a carb so I wouldn't know what to look for. I did find something else that isn't right but I want to take care of this problem before tackling that one. If someone can explain in detail where it goes or even a picture would be awesome. I would be very grateful

It will depend on where on the carb it goes but overall you want to make sure the four vacuum ports are plugged. Two (one on each) carbs and two (one on each) intake ports. You can use caps to plug each one or hoses to interconnect them (Ive seen different configurations on different bikes).
Ill see if I have any pics.

I've been in there looking with a flash light I can't see anywhere it looks like a cap would go that doesn't already have one

I believe that hose went to the nipple on top of the left intake manifold.I am assuming it is a small vacuum line going to the AI pump.

I have done the AI removal kit in the last week.
The one I had to remove and replace the rubber cap on was on the clutch side of the bike on the manifold between the carby and head.

Like they've already said above... its prob the hose that ran from the AI pump to the left side carb. Its already blocked off so just trace the hose up under the tank, it plugs into the AI pump and remove it there.

If its a small diameter, like a vacuums line, then it may be the vent tube for the tank. Aside from that the only other two hoses that would not effect the bike running are the air box vent tube and the tip over valve hose (not sure what else to call it).

Sounds like the AI may have been 'half removed', ie the hose was taken off and the carby nipple plugged.
