I got a buddy here who just bought that Harley, and I'm glad it is not listed in the thread of "The Wobble of Death". But I have no info regarding that bike. Anyone has any insight or heads up to share? I would pass it on to my friend.

Yea, it's the coolest and best handling Harley ever built. I test rode one last month in Yakima, and I want.

+1 except I don't want one . A completely different kettle of fish to the 1,000cc Ironhead AMF sportster I had.

I've hankered after one since the day H-D debuted 'em.
But then again as I've said for years, I believe there's a market for the Street Tracker look out there.
(...it's just too bad that the Harley Faithful are more into Cruisers than anything else, and thus this bike never caught on with them and thus is now discontinued)
Yep! Just like a good Single Malt Scotch, you might call me "an acquired taste" TOO.(among the many OTHER things you may care to call me, of course)

I think you'll find if you look into reports that the wobble of death occurs only in the twin cam big twins that went from hard mount to rubber mount and much bigger displacements at the same time. The already rubber mounted engines of the Dynas haven't exhibited the same anomalies and that mounting system has been in use since the EVO was introduced. Sporties went to rubber mount in 2004 but did not change the engine portion which remains the ultra reliable four cam EVO design; there was a major change in the access to the transmission. That now requires splitting cases and that brought a lot of unhappy criticism but there doesn't seem to have been an uptick in transmission failures so that winge fest seems to have borne little fruit.
That Sporty is said to be the best handling best riding model ever. I'd love to ride one and find out.

I am not sure of the newer designs but the old sportys were prone to expensive transmission repairs and they were over complicated trans designs too. I never liked the 4 cam design that has the cam bushings in the outer case prone to cracking.I can't count how many I have had apart for that issue.
