I was just talking about Johnny with ba member Brent and how I had the privilege of seeing him perform a few years back. Now I find that Johnny died. R.I.P. Johnny... you were a hero to me in the music world.

Live to love, love to live.

I was lucky enough to see Johnny Winter, R.I.P., way back in the early 90s at a small venue in Ft. Lauderdale, FL.

Man, I was fortunate to see Johnny 3 times, once in a small theater. He was one of my favorites and lived well beyond his project life expectancy.

Rock n Rolllllll, Johnny

1970something or other I worked an Edgar Winter show and his brother showed up to play with him ( it wasn't a suprise to me it was a sheded part of show) and from that day on I was hooked big time !! Just a few yrs ago seen Edgar on tour with a group that included Farner so again was able to get backstage and shake hands with him. Which then resparked my love with the Winter brothers. Thru the yrs as a stagehand I met several people in the business some nice some not so much lol I will put the Winter brothers in the nice column a little offish but nice. He was one of the great blues masters and is a true loss to the blues world. Meeting him in the 70s I am amazed he lived this long!! RIP Johnny your body hurts no more!!

ENJOY!!!!! NEWT!!!!!

Johnny and Edgar were no-shows at a Jethro Tull concert I went to in Tampa Stadium. I never did get to see him live.

On a related note, the tattoist Spider Webb says that Johnny was the only person he ever inked that he could produce a true black color. (Oh, how I wish I could remember the important stuff as well as I do the obscure)

RIP Johnny

Seen him live a couple of years ago. He looked very frail. Here is one of my favorites.

I have seen Johnny Winter perform at least 10 times over the years. He was truly an amazing guitarists. The first time I saw him was in the early 70 in New Orleans on the riverboat President. He jammed for over 5 hours it was incredible. Johnny is on my top five list of guitarists that I have seen live. In no particular order they are BB King, Jimmy Page,Stevie RAY Vaughan and Eric Clapton. May he RIP and he will always be Still Alive And Well. Think I will spin some albums tonight in his honor.
