I bought this 2003 America in April this year, the previous owner bought it new in 2005 and hurt his back shortly after buying it. It only had 4500 kilometres on the clock.

This is how it looked when I picked it up:

Things I've done so far:

Removed pillion seat, pegs and sissy bar.
Replaced stock mirrors with Kuryakyn Scythe II's.
Removed Air Injection.
Replaced stock pipes with short TOR's (Pilot jet changed from 42 to 45).
Replaced stock air filter with a DNA.
Few other small things like oil/filter change, new plugs, flushed brake fluid, installed speed bleeders.

Currently looks like this:

It looks better without the rear peg brackets.I guess that's why they changed them to the "hole in the middle" black slimmer type on later models.

That's nice.
Does the tool bag mark or scratch the fork shrouds at all?
I have mine mounted down below the oil cooler, which stops rocks chipping the frame paint. Look,s pretty cool as well.
Would prolly look even cooler with another one under the headlight, giving even more room in me saddlebags. Long as it doesn,t scratch the shrouds, of course.

Hmmm, somebody titled that bike wrong I think. Goodwood green was 2004 and 2005 model America. It may have been manufactured in the year 2003 for the model year of 2004. My Goodwood 2005 was manufactured in October of 2004.

The tool bag has been on for about a month now and the fork shrouds are not marked at all.

The compliance plate states it was manufactured 12/03 so you are on the money I think satxron, it is probably a 2004 model purchased in 2005.

Cheers.

I'd say yes.Especially the footpeg brackets.Maybe do that first then see what you think about the sprocket cover.

Try Photo-Shopping Green in lieu of Black? But if Black is what you go with, I found a nearly perfect color match, semi flat paint brand that dries nearly as tuff as powder coat: 62P Black web page

Thanks Findlay, I agree at a minimum the footpeg brackets need doing. I might go with that and get the smaller chrome sprocket cover.

I'll try and give that a go tonight Ryk, I'll post up if the results look any good, I'm a bit of a PS newb so I need to read a tutorial as I do it.

Cheers.

I swapped out the sprocket cover on my '03 for a chrome Bonneville cover. It looks much better imho.

I like the green footpeg mounts.Maybe try them with a black sprocket cover?

There used to be Chroming shops in Brisbane that could do "Black chrome" I don't know were any chrome platers are nowadays

I like the green footpeg mounts too, maybe the black or eddy's sprocket cover and green on the side cover.

Thanks Brent.

I have a polished sprocket cover coming so I will reassess once installed. I may just end up black powder coating the footpeg mounts, it's a bit too much green for me!

I hear ya. I got rid of the old footpeg brackets and got some custom ones that moved them forward.

I'm looking forward to your changes.

Hey mate, those pipes are only 2 months old, I have recently changed from stock to short TORS.

I regularly use Autosol Metal Polish all over the bike.

Couple of little update pics.

New Kuryakyn tank cap:

New Pregressive 412's for the rear, also a couple of throttle bosses that you can't quite see.

I also have new Progressive fork springs but they are on the to do list. Factory tacho is also enroute.

Here's the bike this afternoon, in touring mode for a club run tomorrow:

I ended up powder coating the rear peg hangers custom black.
