Hi guys, I have just completed the AI removal on my 2003 America and I was taking the front sprocket cover off when I found this sitting on the swing arm under the chain: Does this look familiar to anyone? Has it come off my bike? It didn't look like it came from anywhere obvious? It's about the size of a really large mint! The other options are that it has flicked up from the road or my bike is generating it's own spares... Thanks for any help.

It's the rubber bumper the tank slides onto. Pull your tank again and you'll find it missing on one or both sides.

Hi Zmilin,
Do you mean the two at the front?
Just checked and they are both in place, the bit I found is about half their size.
Cheers.

Yes, I meant the two up front. Did you remove your air box? I seem to remeber a couple around that area as well.

No I didn't touch the airbox, except to remove the hose that goes to the air valve, then I plugged it with a cap and some silicone. There is nothing obvious that I can see missing.
I'm hoping edmspeedmaster is right and it's not from the bike......
Thanks for your input guys.

It looks like one of the rubber stops that you remove when you pull the airbox and install the Freak kit. As long as it isn't one of the bump stops for the gas tank I wouldn't worry about it.

I don't think it's an air box plug, it's too fluted for that, the design would suggest that it's a bushing that absorbs shock and vibration omnidirectionally. When I find spare Triumph parts lying all under the bike, I just get a broom and dustpan and sweep them all up and keep 'em in a box.
I think some impish fellow has played a trick on you.

That rubber, goes to your frame/airbox mounting. You guys have been running pod filters so long now, you forgot all about them?
