Ok, As promised an upate. Have now traveled a bit over 1200km's since the new chain went on and have not cleaned the bike in that time. The last 700km's have been done this weekend and in the pouring rain at times. The chain is still nicely oiled and clean. The rear wheel while definitely needing a clean isn't too bad at all. Very happy.
