Good point. But from what he's said recently he's a lot happier now.

Lets just hope Hero doesn't squash his dreams. Though from the sound of it, they need him more than he needs them - right now.

I had been told by friends who worked in Harley service..
They would all volunteer to take out the Buells
for the post-assembly demo ride.
Evidentally the front wheel hated pavement on those demo rides...

You have to enter a contest to win a "virtual" demo ride??? Typical Harley marketing. They think it's privilege to even breathe the air surrounding Harley products. You can go to a Zero dealer and ride one now.

3.5 hour recharge ever 30 miles? I'd be pushing it to just go to the near edge of town and back. Won't work for me, I'm used to 10 minute fillup every 100+ miles.

The Zero bike has a range of over a 100 miles per charge. HD Electric bike should be a lot more than 30 miles, unless they are using Lead Acid batteries from the 50's...

Lead acid batteries - it's all about tradition.

This bike will be offered with a springer front end as well. There is no way zero can compete with that.

The way I would design an electric motorcycle would be to use a single swing arm rear end, with the electric motor and braking system built into the swing arm. So, all the engine/transmission would be at the rear wheel, which would free up the rest of the bike for the Lithium batteries and support electronics. Anti-Gravity Batteries makes a 12V, and I think even a 24V Lithium Battery rated at over 720Amps. It weights about 5 pounds for each Battery. Put about 12 of those 24V batteries on the bike and I think 150 miles is very possible. The Bike would probably weight around 300 pounds.
