While I think you made some valid points here OB, let us not forget that the point made most by the people here was that those "loyal H-D owners" with their little tattoos proudly proclaiming their love of their chosen brand, have for the MOST part found little to love in the V-Rod model, and with some of then even expressing the thought that it's not a "true Harley-Davidson".
And thus, if you have a sizable number of these "tattooed faithful" saying THAT about a water-cooled H-D model that can make a lot of NOISE while it's running('cause I hope you ALSO know that most H-D riders seem to think that THAT will "save their lives"), then can you just imagine how those SAME people will view a model which makes little noise at ALL???
(...and for the record, THIS "Triumph loyalist" HERE thinks H-D deserves a pat on the back for this forward thinking idea and that they had the guts to even go there, as they've had their "hand slapped" before by their "loyal following" whenever they "dare" to branch out from the cruiser marker and resulting in poor sales for their non-cruiser models)
