Judging from this post, I'm going to assume you placed the shims in any location without measuring them. Not good. You need to check the valve clearances (cam to valve shim)now with feeler gauges. There needs to be .15 to .20mm clearance on the intake valves and .25 to .30mm on the exhaust. You get this by measuring the clearance, then removing the shim and measuring it to determine it's thickness. Increase or decrease the shim size to get the desired cam to valve shim clearance. If the clearance is too close or non existent, you will burn a valve. Too great, noisy tappet, wear and if great enough, decreased performance.
