I purchased some 48 inch LED tube lights to replace the Fluorescent lights I have in the garage. These LED lights are pretty much plug-n-play, you just have to take the ballast out of the circuit and wire one end of the fixture directly to AC. The LED tube lights only use 18 Watts, and have an estimated life of 50,000 hours. The light output compared to the fluorescent tubes is absolutely brilliant, and just a huge improvement. Obviously they cost more, with each LED tube costing about $21.60. If they last anywhere near their estimated life then I will never have to replace them.
