I check them by pulling the tube and roll it on a piece of glass. If you think they are bent in an area you can get to without disassembly you can use a straight edge working your way around them.

Side note, I also check cycle heads for warpage to make sure they are flat on glass with a feeler gauge and have sanded them flat on the glass. Need a good straight edge to check the area between cyl. though.

Ok I dont want to pull them part but i guess I will have too. How bad is it to ride with them tweaked?

A good source for a reasonably priced straightedge is one of those arts and crafts super stores, here on the W. Coast "Micheals" is the most common one. You can get a 48" Stainless Steel one for around $20 or less.

I did the old dirt bike trick and banged it against the wall and it straightened out I think I had tweaked the top triple tree.

Tweaked the tree is very possible, loosen the top stay bolts and twist every thing straight, tighten up and see if that helps. You may need to loosen the chrome nut that secures the top tree too.
