Just a thought. Sure would have been nice if triumph engineers would have tied the low oil sensor into the kill switch. Very easy to do and would shut the engine down when oil pressure drops. The location of the low oil light makes it unlikely to been noticed until its too late.

Honda does that on generators and air compressors, not sure of anything else.

Maybe a safety reason. I'd hate to be mid-curve and a sensor think I was low on oil and shut me down. Now on a vertically stable platform, whole different story.

I got the oil report back today. On the roughly 2 oz. of oil I was able to collect when I pulled the drain plug the day the oil filter got hit.

All looks good. Wear metals all in line. Lead higher than normal, but right at universal averages, so no concern. Even Aluminum ppm dropped from the previous few samples and oil changes. If I can get an oil pan gasket and put the pan back on, I'm back on the road.
