...adding to this thread for anyone's future benefit. I ended up choosing ME 888 in the rear and ME 880 in the front. After 1500 miles on them I have had no issues and can definitely report that small cracks in the road do not "grab" the front wheel like the stock front tire used to. Hard to explain what that felt like ----but it was definitely "squirrelly" if that makes sense. None of that now.
