My America came with the LaserTec on the front new, ME880 rear. Let the dealer talk me into the LaserTec as the first front replacement. Next time I put the ME880 on the front. Felt better, more sure footed feedback from the front 880 than the 2 previous LTs. Got about 12K miles on them both, have that now on the front 880 and there is still mileage left. I will get another ME880 front when the time comes.
Don't have any experience with the Avon tires but they do have good reviews on the web. Don't know about "far below freezing" as it does get below freezing here but it doesn't stay that way long.
